MCM Home has graciously invited us to meet at their shop for our Vancouver meets, where everyone is sure to have a fun visit and a fantastic hunt for treasures in the shop.
Our first meet-up in Victoria was a huge success, thanks to the support of Cook Street Vintage and all the fantastic people on Vancouver Island.
We were blown away by the enthusiasm and passion that the community showed for our craft.
Seeing so many people come together at the meet-up was a pleasure.
Cook Street Vintage provided a spot in their beautiful shop to hold our drop-off and the sunny driveway for our return.
The community of Vancouver Island also played a massive role in making our weaving project meet a success.
We were delighted and overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and passion for our lifestyle choice and weaving services.
We are committed to providing exceptional customer service and quality workmanship at Caning Canada. The relationships we build with our customers are the foundation of our success, and we strive to make every interaction with us positive and memorable.
After a concert with his friends in Vancouver, we grabbed our son and had a lovely look at Victoria!

We stayed in the cottage at The Zed Hotel in Victoria, had a wonderful time exploring Victoria, thought we'd stop by The Bug Zoo and ended up staying for hours, and found a local brewery.
When we returned to Victoria with the completed weaving projects, we brought a set of donated vintage handwoven cane bentwood chairs that we restored and re-homed on the Island.
The donated bistro chairs were on the verge of being discarded.
The chairs were in great shape, with only the caning needing some TLC and a good clean to remove years of buildup.
Caning Canada stepped in to save these beautiful chairs from the landfill, giving them a new life.
The chairs exemplify exquisite craftsmanship with their elegant curves and natural textures.
The restored chairs are a testament to the power of restoration and reuse. Rather than ending up in a landfill, they have been given a new life for the restoration cost, thanks to the kind folks who donated the set, our dedication to the environment, and our years of experience weaving chairs.
If you have any woven vintage furniture that requires restoration, consider contacting Caning Canada to restore the piece for your use or to be re-homed. Not only will you be preserving a piece of history, but you will also be helping to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
These chairs are often made with high-quality materials and intricate weaving patterns no longer commonly found in modern furniture.
Caning Canada can preserve their unique beauty and historical value by restoring these woven chairs.
When antique or vintage woven chairs are donated to Caning Canada, they are carefully assessed and restored using traditional techniques to ensure they are returned to their original glory. This not only helps to preserve the beauty and history of these chairs, but it also helps to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
If you have antique or vintage woven chairs that require restoration, consider donating them to Caning Canada. You can be confident that they will be given the care and attention they deserve and that they will be able to continue to be appreciated and enjoyed for generations to come.
After the drop-off in Victoria, we headed to Nanaimo to assist with icons, including Hans Wegner and Moller treasures, the J16 Rocking Chair, Chair 23 Dining Chairs and a beautiful Moller 78 woven in the black Danish cord.

From Nanaimo, we were off to Middle Beach Lodge in Tofino to convert their rawhide Cloverleaf chairs to our favourite option for unobstructed chair frames, the beautiful no-nail Danish cord option.
